The Shunde Pouch - installation is a result of the In situ : Spatial Textiles - workshop that was organized in the Shunde Polytechnic in China.
The aim of the workshop was to bring together Chinese students representing different disciplines. These included architects, landscape-architects, as well as media-, fashion-, and graphic designers. The purpose of the workshop was to design an installation that explored spatial qualities of textile materials, and to implement the design in the Guangzhou Design Center. The challenge was in creating space with a two-dimension material in an economical and ecological way. The shape of the design is defined by gravity. The design results in a zero material loss while the textile is mowed.
